The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

This is such a wonderful story. Truly one of a kind.

Benjamin must had learned a lot. Being the odd one out had taught him plenty of things i guess. I admire the view he had on life. One of them is how he described about the collision cross. One thing leads to another. A mere delay in a second could've shifted the entire future in the whole.

Brad Pitt did a good job in this too.

The ending was sad. The sacrifice he was going through, the sacrifice that he had to make because of his "disease". I will applaud him for such courage, really.

I love the way the director showed the reversed clock in the end too. Artistic. A nice touch to conclude.

My rating is 10/10.

Grown Ups

I don't understand what is so funny about this movie, like how one of my friends said it is! I guess, this is one of my worst comedy.

It was not funny at all. Pretty lame. Everything they joked on was about sex and they were not even funny.

Very poor plot.

Well, it very much portrayed how children nowadays were so spoilt. The things they were exposed to are just so not for a child. Contaminated mind in such an early age.

My rating is 2/10.

Revolutionary Road

I feel that many of us are in what this movie showed. Or at least people who loves adventures, who are lively and the likes. They are stuck in what this world called normal, the stable life. Thus, denying themselves of what satisfies them or rather of what makes them feel alive. As what Leonardo said in this movie, 'hopeless emptiness'. I can totally relate to that. But again i said, majority of the world thinks it's irresponsible, neurotic and childish, to do the things we feel alive in even though it's not by the world's standard.

Leonardo and Kate were great. Lots of emotions. Anyway, i just don't like the ending. I would like a happy one, you know. This is just too sad. Even excluding all those failed plans.

This movie definitely brought me into some deep thinking.

My rating is 8/10.

Romeo + Juliet

My heart simply felt so......devastated by this movie. William Shakespeare was good.

This movie was amazing.

They used the exact convo from William Shakespeare's play but the scene was in the 90's. It was a bit funny seeing modern people conversed in the olden days' or rather the poet's language. But they did great in it. I wonder how the actors and actresses memorized the speeches. They must be hard!

Towards the end, where Romeo was at Juliet's deathbed, I very wished that the director had changed the last part into getting Romeo and Juliet together. But... sigh. It was very sad. Well, i guess it'd made more impact to the audiences if both of them died.

Leonardo was very good in acting as Romeo. Claire too as Juliet. Double thumbs up for them.

Now i understand why Romeo and Juliet is so popular.

My rating is 10/10.

Unbreakable

Interesting movie. And a nice shocking ending.

Love the way the movie shows how David Dunn, starred by Bruce Willis, found out that he was unbreakable. And when in the end, he accepted, he became a hero in helping out people.

I'm a bit pitiful of Elijah Prince though, who was called Mr. Glass because his bones were easily fractured. But well, he shouldn't have killed people just to prove that he was not a weirdo. Well, i guess one can do something desperately and irrationally when faced with something terrible he alone seemed to be bearing. But indeed, that is not the way how one should tackle them.

My rating is 7/10.

The Aviator

An interesting storyline. Indeed it is a history. =) And i love movies based on history.

I would say it is rather unique. I meant the way the movie was filmed. A sense of art in it. Love the 30's feel in the movie. Some parts are sort of good-naturedly humorous too! I didn't even once feel bored though the movie is a long one, 2 hours and half.

Leonardo, as usual, performed excellently the character of Howard Hughes. I realised most of his other roles in other movies are of one who is brilliant in mind yet suffering from some mental illness. In this movie, he imitated well of those people who suffer from obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Loved the loyalty of his friends. Despite of everything, they stood true by his side. Even at the last part, they hid him from the others especially the press when his illness attacked.

My rating is 8/10.

Toy Story 3

This movie relives my childhood. It has been 10 years since Toy Story 2 and i was about 9 years old at that time. So, like Andy, i'm all grown up now, almost ready for college or uni! I wonder whether that's the aim of the director, to only produce this movie after so long so that those of us who'd been living our childhood with Toy Story will watch it as if we're Andy because we're now in his shoe. :)

I love the story line. It was touching. In the same time funny and had some taste of adventure in it. I like Woody's loyalty towards his owner and in the same time towards his friends. All the other toys are cool too. One more scene I like was where Barbie meets her Barbie Man. It was hilarious. Another was when Mr. Potato only can use his limbs, eyes, nose, ears and mouths and stuff them to a mat so that they will stand.

Anyway, the ending was what touched me the most. Andy spoke about his toys, and especially when he spoke about Woody. I just felt the feeling of longing towards my childhood there.

Love the animation, the musics. They were splendid, perfect.

My rating is 9/10.

What's Eating Gilbert Grape

Thumbs up for this movie. It was said to be based on a true story. Though the story line was pretty simple, yet it was filmed in a very captivating manner. I thought I will get bored halfway, but instead it caught more and more of my attention.

I simply felt touched by Gilbert. On how he bore all those responsibilities, taking care of Arnie who was a retarded 18-year old kid, an obese mother who was suffering from depression, and two sisters. His father left the whole family and just disappeared without any word. I felt touched again by the love this family gave to their mother and the mentally-handicapped brother. They were even willing to burn down their house in order to not let their mother, who had just died, be humiliated as she could not be carried out except by a crane.

Johnny Depp did a great job in acting as Gilbert. Same goes to Leonardo who acted as Arnie. It was so funny, the way he acted and he was so young! Only 18 or 19 year old at that time. The mother too was good. I wonder how they managed to find for an obese lady who was good in acting and was also not ashamed to be on the screen.

All in all, my rating for this movie is 8/10

The Twilight Saga: New Moon

I watched New Moon yesterday night.

What I couldn't understand is that why this movie is able to hit the top 50 of the all-time worldwide box office. All the time I was watching, I was debating with myself whether to stop wasting my time on it. Nevertheless, I finished it because I didn't want to waste my effort in downloading it.

I am very disappointed with the movie. I don't know how such a great storyline can be turned into such a boring movie not to mention a confusing one too. I wonder whether Stephenie Meyer is sad too of such outcome. If one has not yet read the book, I don't think he or she will be able to understand the movie at all. It is like the director expected his audiences to read the book firsthand and so not caring to explain the story in a clear manner. I guess all of this movie fans don't really care of the story but the characters. To ogle the 'hot' characters.

Well, for me, I don't find the guy characters, Edward and Jacob, beautiful, like how it was described in the book. For Bella, I think her looks are pretty okay though. However, all the three of them, I regretfully say, are bad in acting. Bella mumbles all the way, besides not having appropriate reactions for the scenes she was in. Same goes to Jacob and he was no sunny at all. Fortunately Edward is better than the two of them though not by a large margin. I can't even feel the romance between Edward and Bella. It is like they were being forced to be together, no feelings.

Well, I can't wholly blame them for being famous because of this movie but just the taste of the fans. They must still be inexperienced and did not also expect to be nominated in so many awards. The rest of the characters in the movie like Charlie and Alice is no any better too. Bad reactions. Maybe they didn't read the books before. Or maybe the director is just bad.

My rating is 1/10.
